Today there are KK&K-turbines in use that we installed decades ago. The lifetime is long when the correct maintenance is performed according to plan. Condition-based maintenance is possible for facilities with digital monitoring (“condition monitoring”, see Digital). For older facilities we follow the maintenance plan, which can be supplemented with a yearly vibration measurement, to either prolong the revision interval or to find eventual deviations before they become a problem. The cost for planned pre-emptive maintenance is often a fraction compared to a shutdown and the following reactive maintenance.
